For the last few years we have been actively developing lacrosse in schools within our local community. At primary school level we coach Pop Lacrosse whilst at secondary school level we coach Lax. If pupils are interested in continuing with lacrosse outside of the school environment then they are welcome to come along to our Junior Club where they can give Field Lacrosse a try.

To date we have mainly been working in partnership with the Woodcote School Sports Partnership where, in conjunction with the Community School Sports Coach , we have now introduced Pop Lacrosse in all of their primary schools. For the first time last year all of these schools had the opportunity to participate in a series of qualifying tournaments to represent London area at the National Pop Lacrosse Tournament.

In addition we run two Lunch Clubs and an After School Club at Woodcote High School & Sports College and, during 2007/08 will extend our secondary school work to Thomas More.

If you are a teacher or otherwise involved in delivering sport to young people and are interested in including lacrosse in your programme then please click here for more information.

Information (from left)

Pop Lacrosse is a mini form of the game for young children and it is ideally suited to Primary School education. The rules and equipment are specially designed to be safe and able to adapt to a variety of situations. Lax is the follow up game to Pop using field sticks but has no contact. As well as a game in its own right, it can also act as a transition to the full field game. Field Lacrosse is the full version of the game. The versions played by men and women are quite different with the former permitting body contact.
